descreve como “procurando estabelecer a sua própria (justiça)”(Romanos 10:3).
Esta tem sido a religião do povo comum, antes e depois deles. É a religião que
se encontra nas ruas, hoje. De facto, é o princípio fundamental de cada sistema
religioso e moral do mundo, excepto o Cristianismo do Novo Testamento. É um
princípio popular porque é lisonjeiro. Ele diz ao homem que, se ele tão somente
conseguir melhorar um pouco o seu comportamento e se ele se esforçar um
pouquinho mais, conseguirá obter a sua própria salvação.
It is this most basic human loneliness that threatens us and is so hard to face.
